  1. Hi congrats on your baby. I found your blog when I searched congee on the web. I too went to the same clinic as you (in Dallas) last night for the first time. It has probably been awhile for you, but curious if you liked the clinic. We just had our consultation last night and she mentioned the Florax and Congee. Any wisdom/advice or thoughts on acupuncture would be appreciated :0 Thanks!

    • Hey, Caroline. Thank you so much! I actually worked as a receptionist for TCRA during the time that we were going through IVF. Even if I didn’t have that personal relationship with them, I would recommend them. I’ve seen from the inside that they do have a great knowledge of fertility acupuncture, and they do care for their patients.
I think what is really important in almost every aspect of this journey is that you are comfortable with whom you’re working with, and that you like them. A big part of the acupuncture is to help you relax and find a bit of peace. Not easy when going through fertility treatments, I know. So you need to find an acupuncturist that you feel comfortable and trust in, even if it’s someone other than at TCRA. Although, of course, make sure you find someone who knows what they are doing.
Enjoy that time (try). Take time to reflect and center yourself. It can’t hurt anything to get yourself in a better place/mindset. I will say though that I have heard people say that they don’t like the acupuncture. If it doesn’t put your mind in a better place, than by all means, stop. Don’t force yourself to do anything that makes you uncomfortable because I don’t think that really helps anything.
Does all of this really work? Well, it certainly didn’t hurt us. All of the dieting, Floradix taking, Congee eating, and acupuncture did get my body (and mind really) into a healthy place. If/when we decide to do IVF again, I would definitely do exactly like I did before.
Good luck to you! I’ll be sending you good fertile vibes, and I hope it all works out. If you have any other questions or just want to chat, please feel free to email me at babyandthegeeks@gmail.com.
